On October 5, NC launched Aion 2 globally as a free-to-play MMORPG on Steam and PURPLE. Servers flipped after an eight-hour maintenance window that closed Advanced Access. Characters from early access carry over - no wipe. Steam and PURPLE share the same servers and content.
What early access already proved
Founder’s Pack players got in September 30 and immediately parked the game at #1 on Steam’s global Top Sellers chart across more than ten regions, with a peak around 171,500 concurrent on Steam alone. Wishlists before launch topped 1.3 million. That was paid head-start money. Today is the real stress test: freeloaders, queues, and whether the Continent holds when the price hits zero.
