Avengers: Endgame Just Came Back and Stole No. 1 From the Living
Encore re-release: $26M weekend, unseats Resident Evil. Infinity Vision tickets ~52% of the haul. Spidey adds $4.1M to ~$950.7M domestic. Dead heroes still print money.
The living fought for the weekend. A 2019 funeral for half the universe won it.
Avengers: Endgame Encore opened to about $26 million and took No. 1 - knocking Resident Evil ($23.3M, still $103.5M total) into second. Disney’s Infinity Vision certified seats allegedly drove more than half the opening. Meanwhile Spider-Man: Brand New Day quietly added $4.1 million and sat near $950.7 million domestic / almost $2.5 billion worldwide.
Why an encore still works
Because Endgame is not a movie anymore. It is a pilgrimage. People who cried in 2019 brought people who were too young then. Marvel needed a blue-chip reminder after a messy stretch, and the weekend delivered one with nostalgia instead of a new $300M production.
Newcomers Heart of the Beast ($20M) and Primetime ($19.2M) filled the middle. The crown went to the dead Avengers anyway.

Re-release. $26M. No. 1. Spidey past $950M. The MCU still knows how to fill a room when it brings the hits back.
