GTA 6 Just Got Its Big Magazine Drop - Weather, Wildlife, and 12 New Screenshots
Game Informer Issue 382 digital live Sep 29: 14-page Rockstar cover story on Leonida and Vice City. Advanced Florida weather. Animals on land, air, sea. Miami research. Nov 19 still locked.
Fifty-one days to launch. Rockstar finally let a magazine into the house.
Game Informer Issue 382 goes digital for subscribers on September 29 with a 14-page Grand Theft Auto VI cover story - exclusive Rockstar interviews, a South Florida writer’s eye on how “Florida” the parody state of Leonida really is, and 12 new screenshots. Cover art from Rockstar shows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Print follows in the coming weeks. The game still ships November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What the feature actually digs into
Not a new trailer. Not a date change. World-building - the thing Rockstar sells better than anyone. Writer Marcus Stewart, a lifelong South Florida native, sat with lead designers on:
- Advanced weather that simulates Florida’s less sunny moods, not just postcard heat
- Wildlife crawling Leonida on land, in the air, and in the water - native and otherwise
- How Rockstar researched Miami and Florida for cultural and aesthetic accuracy
- Getting around Leonida by land, air, and sea
If you have been living on trailer frame-grabs since August’s Netflix Extended Look, this is the first big written dump with studio voices attached.
Why a magazine still matters in 2026
Because GTA VI is not a normal game cycle. Every screenshot becomes a Discord autopsy. Every weather sentence becomes a theory thread. Rockstar barely talks. When they talk through a 14-page package, the internet treats it like a patch notes event for the culture. Same week AMD bought a lab to invent fake worlds for robots, Rockstar is still inventing the most expensive fake Florida money can buy - and people will pay $70-plus to live in it.
What else is in the issue
Previews from Gamescom season: Ocarina of Time remake, Metroid Ravenous, Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Persona 4 Revival hands-on notes, plus reviews including Marvel’s Wolverine. Nice stack. Nobody is buying Issue 382 for Finn Wolfhard’s Pokémon picks. They are buying Jason and Lucia on the cover and twelve new looks at Vice City.
The magazine read
14 pages. 12 shots. Florida weather that can ruin your day on purpose. Nov 19. The drip just got thicker.
