Spider-Man: Brand New Day Hits Theaters July 31 - Holland, Punisher, a World That Forgot Peter

Eleven days. That is roughly what is left before Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into US theaters on Friday, July 31, 2026 - Tom Holland’s fourth solo outing, the first since the world forgot who Peter Parker is.

No multiverse guest tour this time. Street-level. Rebuilding. And Jon Bernthal’s Punisher in the mix.

The date

MarketDate
USAJuly 31, 2026
Germany, Philippines, Finland, ItalyJuly 29
India, Australia, Argentina, Hong Kong, Singapore, UkraineJuly 30
Amazon Prime early US screeningsJuly 29

Sony pushed the US date a week off an earlier late-July slot so the movie would not fight Nolan’s The Odyssey for IMAX screens. Runtime listed around 145 minutes. Formats: RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, D-Box, and the first film marketed as “Shot for ScreenX.”

Who is in it

  • Tom Holland - Peter Parker / Spider-Man
  • Zendaya - MJ
  • Jacob Batalon - Ned
  • Jon Bernthal - Punisher
  • Also billed: Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, Mark Ruffalo

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi). Written again by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the duo behind Holland’s first three Spider-Man films. Music: Michael Giacchino. Produced by Marvel Studios, Columbia and Pascal Pictures; Sony distributes.

What it is about (without spoiling the fun)

Set years after No Way Home wiped Peter’s identity from the world. He is back to operating under the radar in a city that does not know his name - rebuilding a life while new threats hit him and the people he loves. Marvel and Sony are selling grounded, street-level stakes after the multiverse blowout. Bernthal’s Punisher is the casting that made fan timelines explode: darker New York energy next to a kid in a hoodie who still has to make rent.

Phase Six of the MCU. Second Marvel movie of 2026. First Holland solo Spidey in nearly five years.

Why the timing feels loud

Summer is already crowded. Brand New Day arrives two weeks after The Odyssey, with tickets already on sale in some markets - Sony India called it the earliest advance on-sale in Spider-Man history. Trailers are out. International dates keep drifting a day or two early. The machine is in “everyone must see this opening weekend” mode.

For Holland, it is the reset chapter: no Avengers cameo circus required, just Peter, MJ, and a city that does not remember the sacrifice.

In short

  • In theaters July 31 (US); many countries July 29-30
  • Cretton directs; Holland, Zendaya, Bernthal’s Punisher
  • Post-No Way Home - world forgot Peter, street-level rebuild
  • 145 minutes, ScreenX, IMAX abroad, tickets already moving

If the last trilogy ended with everyone forgetting Spider-Man, Brand New Day is about what happens when only he remembers - and the theater date is almost here.
