A Typhoon Killed Tokyo Game Show's Last Day. Kojima Still Cast Bill Skarsgard
TGS 2026: 257,642 visitors, fifth day cancelled by Typhoon Dujuan. Xbox closer: Bill Skarsgard leads Physint. Pennywise in a spy game. Tagline: the next Cold War begins.
The storm got the last day. The internet got the casting.
Tokyo Game Show 2026 was supposed to be five days - a 30th-anniversary flex. Typhoon Dujuan cancelled Monday. Attendance still hit 257,642 across the four days that survived. PlayStation built a theater for the GTA VI extended look. Square let people sit on Cloud’s bike. Sega had Persona 4 Revival playable. Then Xbox saved the headline for the end.
Kojima walks out
Hideo Kojima, first big public appearance since Physint jumped from PlayStation to Xbox, closed the broadcast and confirmed Bill Skarsgard - Pennywise, John Wick’s villain era - as the lead. Cast already included Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe. Poster line: “The next Cold War begins.” No release date. Does not matter. The screenshot is already everywhere.

Typhoon, cancelled holiday, 257k people anyway. Then the guy who makes trailers feel like movies puts Pennywise in a spy thriller. Tokyo did its job.
