The Zelda Movie Has No Subtitle on Purpose - Miyamoto Says You'll Get It
Live-action film is just The Legend of Zelda. Original story from 40 years of lore, not one game. Wes Ball directs. Link, Zelda, Ganondorf cast. April 30, 2027. No trailer yet - which is somehow louder.
Nintendo refused to give the movie a cute subtitle. That is the news.
During the 40th anniversary wave, Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed the live-action film is simply The Legend of Zelda - no “Movie,” no “Origins,” no franchise qualifier. “Once you see the film, you’ll understand why there isn’t a subtitle,” he said. Original story built from 40 years of ideas, not a straight Ocarina or Breath of the Wild remake. Triforce teased. Trailer still MIA, which has fans vibrating.
Who’s in it
Wes Ball directs. Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link, Bo Bragason as Zelda, Uli Latukefu as Ganondorf, Dichen Lachman as Impa, plus Yvonne Strahovski and the late Sam Neill. Sony co-finances. Theaters: April 30, 2027.
The magazine read
No subtitle. Original myth. April date. The wait is the marketing.
